Summer League Volleyball
 
Avalanche Athletics in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, we'll offer 3 divisions for the 2019 summer league:
 
  1. The Lil’ Flurries Division 7-8 year olds (easy link registration)
  2. The Yeti Division 9-12 year olds (easy link registration)
  3. The White Out Division 13-16 year olds (easy link registration)

Registration Information 

  • Open Registration: Mar 7 - May 3, 2019 (or until full)
  • Late Registration: May 6 - May 9, 2019​ (if needed)
League Details 
 
  • 6-Week Season
  • Parent meeting / Q & A - Sunday, May 19, 4:30-5:30pm 
  • Season Dates:  May 20 - June 27, 2019
  • One 1-hour practice per week
  • Practices days are Mondays or Wednesdays at Thunderbirds BGCS (may overflow into Tuesday if needed)
  • Matches on Thursday evenings at the Thunderbirds BGCS
  • 6 weeks of match play 
  • Concludes with end-of-season tournament on Thursday, June 27, 2019
  • $195 Per Player 
    • $10 Sibling Discount

    • This is a practice facility only - all match play will be held at the Thunderbirds BGCS

All athletes must have a current BGCS membership before you're able to register. Memberships may be attained by clicking on the provided link. Those without a current membership will not be allowed to participate in any HGC practices or matches. BGCS MEMBERSHIP 
 

Refund Policy
To withdraw from the BGCS & Avalanche Athletics's league, you must contact Chris Stanfield by email   no later than May 2, 2019 for the summer league. An 85% refund of the paid registration fee will be given until that date. After the above listed date, refunds will not be available. 
 

Coaching Info

Teams will be lead by volunteer head and assistant coaches, with a focus on all skill sets such as serving, hitting, blocking, passing, and defensive and offensive systems. All volunteer coaches will go through "on the court" training before the start of the season, lead by current Avalanche coaches. 

All interested coaches need to register using the link below and all pertinent information will be emailed to you. 

Coaching Details 

  • 15% discount for the head coach
  • 10% discount for the 1st assistant coach  
  • Professional, structured training provided 
    • Spring Season coach meeting and training session: Sunday, May 19, 2:30-4:00pm

  • Coaching support provided all season
